Taormina, and the nearby town of Acireale.

From Catania airport, I drove north to the Hotel Villa Schuler in Taormina. I made a day trip back south to visit Acireale one afternoon.

The lower part of this wall, and the foundation of these buildings date back to Roman times. These bricks were set 2000 years ago.

A “Trinacria” – A Sicilian triskelion symbol – It goes back about 6000 years. I think they’re not sure of the origin..
